they died because Snape was listening to Dumbledor when the prophesy was made that%26#039;s what triggered the prophesy in the first place , so technical its Snape%26#039;s fault.
Reply:Voldemort could see through it. I don%26#039;t really think Dumbledore would%26#039;ve went anyway. I mean, sure he liked the Potters. But I sort of think that Dumbledore thought this was supposed to happen.
