I want to dig up my lily bulbs so I can move them from where they are at. I don%26#039;t plan on storing them. I just want to move them, and replant them this fall, so they bloom next summer.

This depends on the type of Lily. Most of them can be moved carefully anytime as long as you are replanting them immediatly. Don%26#039;t forget to water. If you are planning on storing them till fall I am not sure this will work without at least putting them into some type of pot. Most of your lilies will be using the leaves to help the bulb to grow so it will bloom next season. Usually you would store them in some type of medium like peatmoss when the weather gets cooler and plant them in the spring when frost is about over. I guess this also depends on what region you are residing in also. I would just move them to another location instead of risking losing them altogether.
Reply:I would move them either early fall before it starts to get cold, or really late winter. You want to give them some time to acclimate without too much stress.
I prefer the end of winter myself.

Reply:When I moved last summer, (I live in OK) I wanted to take some of my lilies. I just dug them up stuck them in a planter with potting soil and replated them early this spring. They bloomed and looked beautiful. They must be extremely hardy!
